Year 6 Remote Learning

Hi Year 6 and welcome to remote learning. Mrs Hatton and Mrs Grant will be your 'Remote Teachers' this week :)

Every morning we are going to set you up with some daily challenges for you to complete at home. Make sure to record your work in your remote learning books. We are also going to check in with you every afternoon to see how you are getting on with the work and to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to leave a comment in the guestbook about how you are getting on as we would love to hear from you all.

Wednesday 22nd July 2020

Good morning Year 6. Today is the last official day of the term and therefore your last day of learning for Ascot Heath. I hope you have enjoyed your time and have a fantastic time at secondary school.

Have a great summer!

Mrs Hatton

Maths activity

Today I would like you to create a Maths revision graffiti page. Using a double page spread in your remote learning book (or a larger piece of paper if you have one) I would like you to create a page that would help you remember all the things that we have learnt in Maths in year 6. This could include things such as:

  • Four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Ratio
  • Area, perimeter and volume
  • Shapes (2D and 3D)
  • Algebra
  • Statistics (Line graphs and pie charts)
  • Fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing)
  • Fractions, decimals and percentages.

You can use more than page if you need to.

English activity

Today I would like you to create a SPaG revision graffiti page. Using a double page spread in your remote learning book (or a larger piece of paper if you have one) I would like you to create a page that would help you remember all the things that we have learnt in SPaG in year 6. This could include things such as:

  • Different types of sentence (simple, compound and complex)
  • Different types of punctuation ( : ; () , - - )
  • Active and passage voice
  • Relative clauses
  • Subjective form
  • Different word classes (nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs)
  • Modal verbs
  • Simple, perfect and progressive tense.

You can use more than one page if you need to.

Other

Music

For your music task today, I would like you to make up a song and perform it to a family member. Here are some suggestions about what your song could be about:

  • Being in lockdown
  • Your time at Ascot Heath
  • A favourite hobby of yours
  • Or anything that you like.

If you play an instrument or have something that could be make a sound in your house than you can create an accompaniment to your song.

Afternoon message

Good afternoon Year 6. Your task this afternoon is to relax and enjoy the sunshine as you have worked so hard this whole year.

Happy Summer Holiday!

Mrs Hatton
