Our Vision
At Ascot Heath Primary School, we aim to create enthusiastic teachers and pupils who love to teach and learn maths. Children will be encouraged to ask questions, experiment with different methods and feel secure in getting things wrong and taking risks, as this is how we learn and get better. Our children will develop a ‘can do’ attitude towards maths especially when we are problem solving and investigating mathematical ideas. Because maths is at the heart of everything we do in life, we will give all children every opportunity to experience maths in real-life situations, whilst inside the classroom and outside, in our beautiful and spacious grounds and around the local area. We will do this through a broad curriculum that allows the children to make maths links across all subject areas and be able to relate them to their everyday lives, so that they will become confident in maths and go on to use the skills we have taught them throughout their lives.
